Who says antique chandelier crystals can't be made into glass Christmas ornaments? These flat Victorian-inspired glass chandelier crystals were rescued from a torn down mansion and destined to be the basis of a new chandelier, that is until I saw them. A beautiful fern-like frosted glass pattern is etched onto a clear background. I call these long, flat crystals "Wintergreen" because they remind me of winter frost on a window. Not immediately discernible in the photos, there are three or four slightly different patterns. The overall effect is of delicate fronds covered with snow. The patterned front has texture and is raised; the edges of each flat glass Christmas ornament are clear and beveled about 1/8" all the way around. The back is clear glass and completely flat. You can hang the ornament either way - beveled edge out or flat edge out. Not being a professional photog, the beauty of these ornaments was a bit difficult to capture. But, I tried. :-)

I've added an Aurora Borealis jeweled spacer bead at the top of the ornament to stabilize the ribbon and catch more light from your tree. The dark green velvet hanging ribbon will blend into your green tree and won't add a different color to your tree or other glass Christmas ornaments. If you place them in front of a light on the tree, the pattern will show through more clearly. Thinking about using them on a snowball/white/flocked Christmas tree? Be sure that you are using the chandelier crystal ornaments on a tree with sturdy branches or in another setting that can safely support their weight. And they are one-of-a-kind unique.
