During the year, I often think of loved ones who have stepped into eternity. But, it seems that I feel their absence more keenly at Christmas time. The family-affirming focus of the Christmas holiday season brings remembrances of past, happy holiday celebrations and those whose presence we deeply miss.

There are lots of memory ornament options available in the marketplace for commemorating deceased loved ones - ornaments with a photo, a name, a poem etc. But, our family has lost so many loved ones over the years, hanging an ornament on the tree for each one would be too sad. I prefer a more subtle approach - one elegant, substantial ornament by which to remember them all.

You can handwrite a name/s on the front or back of the angel with a gold or silver metallic pen or just leave it plain, as I do. I have added a 1" round Brass or Silver pendant with the text: "I will hold you in my heart until I can hold you in heaven", a rhinestone jewel pinhead, a 1" black or ivory satin bow and a brass or silver hanging clip or hook.  Each ornament has a clip hook with a snowflake design. Life is like snowflakes: each one unique, beautiful and melting away in a moment.
